Homer Washington Sackett, son of Jonathan Y Sackett and Rachel Wells Lusk, was born in Putnam County, OhioG, on 7 July 1836.1,2 He died aged 75 in Ottawa Township, Putnam CountyG, on 9 December 19123 and was buried at Riley Creek Cemetery, Ottawa TownshipG, on 11 April 1912.3 He married on 10 March 1864, Mary E Cartwright, daughter of Stephen Cartwright and Mahala Thrapp.2
     Homer served as a Union private from May to August 1864 in an Ohio regiment in the American Civil War.4
     In 1890 he was living in Ottawa, Putnam CountyG.4
