Daniel Sackett Hogbin, son of John Hogbin and Phoebe Sackett, was born in Thanet, KentG, in 1843.2 He married in Thanet, KentG, in 1863, Elizabeth Pound, daughter of ___ Pound and Elizabeth ___.3,4
In 1851 Daniel was living at 15 Hardres Street, RamsgateG, in the household of his parents John and Phoebe, and was recorded in the census as Daniel Sackett Hogbin, a scholar, aged eight and born in Ramsgate.5
In 1861 he was living at 19 Plains of Waterloo, RamsgateG, in the household of his parents John and Phoebe, and was recorded as Daniel Hogbin, a carpenter, aged 18 and born in Ramsgate.6
In 1871 he was living at 1 Balmoral Terrace, RamsgateG, and was recorded as Daniel S Hogbin, journeyman carpenter, head of household, married, aged 28 and born in Ramsgate. Living with him were his wife Elizabeth, 31, and their children, Frederick, 7, Catherine, 5, Annie, 3, and Jessie, aged one.7
In 1881 Daniel's wife Elizabeth was living at 34 Pleasant Place, MargateG, in the household of her mother Elizabeth Pound, and was recorded as Elizabeth Hogbin, a dressmaker, aged 42 and born in London. Living with her were her children, Jessie, 11, Herbert, 9, and Lewis, aged five. Also in the household was a 7-year-old schoolboy boarder.8
