Alice Ann Sackett, daughter of Edward Brewer Sackett and Jane Bax, was born in St Peter in Thanet, KentG, in 18581,2 and baptized at St Peter in ThanetG on 12 May 1858.1 She married at St George, Ivychurch, KentG, on 5 November 1882, Herbert Edwards.3,4 Herbert was born in Snargate, KentG, in about 1861.5
In 1861 Alice was living at 7 Brick Lane, St Lawrence in Thanet, KentG, in the household of her parents Edward and Jane, and was recorded in the census as Alice H Sackett, aged two and born in St Peter's.6
In 1871 she was living at 1 Blackstone Cottages, St Lawrence in ThanetG, in the household of her parents Edward and Jane, and was recorded as Alice Sackett, a scholar, aged 12 and born in St Peter's.7
In 1881 she was living at 7 Victoria Road, St Peter's, KentG, in the household of her parents Edward and Jane, and was recorded as Alice Sackett, unmarried, aged 22 and born in Ramsgate.8
In 1891 she was living at Gravel Shoot, Barham, KentG, in the household of her husband Herbert Edwards, 29, an engine driver, and was recorded as Alice H Edwards, aged 32. Living with them were their children, Esther, 7, Herbert, 5, and Alice, aged two.9
