Clayton Fredrick Sackett, son of George Sackett and Catherine Burmaster, was born in Irving, Chautauqua County, New York StateG, on 8 June 1897.23 He married Pearl Gilpin, following her divorce from Clayton's brother Howard.
     In 1900 Clayton was living in Hanover, Chautauqua County, New York StateG, in the household of his parents George and Catherine, and was recorded in the census as Clayton Sackett, aged two and born in New York.4
     Clayton completed a World War I draft registration card on 24 August 1918. He was then aged 21 and was living at Irving, Chautauqua CountyG. He was employed by the Invincible Train Company.2
