Freeman William Sackett, son of Alzerah S Sackett and Sarah Ann Harbaugh, was born in Warren, Trumbull County, OhioG, on 5 November 1847.2 He died aged 69 in Phillips, Price County, WisconsinG, on 30 January 19172 and was buried at Lakeside Cemetery, PhillipsG.2 He married first in Weyauwega, Waupaca County, WisconsinG, on 1 January 1874, Ann Eliza Meiklejohn, daughter of Peter Meiklejohn and Hannah ___.2 Ann was born in New York StateG on 7 February 1848. She died aged 27 in WeyauwegaG on 2 January 18763 and was buried at Oakwood Cemetery, WeyauwegaG. He married second in WeyauwegaG on 12 November 1878, Emma Ann Hunt, daughter of James B Hunt and Eliza M ___.4
In 1850 Freeman was living in Champion, Trumbull County, OhioG, in the household of his parents Alzerah and Sarah, and was recorded in the census as William F Sackett, aged two and born in Trumbull County.5
In 1860 he was living in Osceola, Fond du Lac County, WisconsinG, in the household of his parents Alzerah and Sarah, and was recorded as Francis Sackett, aged twelve and born in Ohio. (His listing as Francis was probably an enumerator's error as his brother Henry Francis was also listed as Francis.)6
Freeman served in the American Civil War as a Union private from 1863 to 1865 in the 38th Wisconsin Infantry.7
In 1880 Freeman was living in Phillips, Price County, WisconsinG, and was recorded in the census as Freman W Sackett, an editor, head of household, aged 32. Living with him were his second wife Emma, 27, his son William, 5, by his first wife, and his brother George, aged 18.8
In 1890 he was living in Worcester, WisconsinG.7
