George Castor Sackett Sr, son of Winfield Scott Sackett and Sarah Pharmer "Sally" Abram, was born in PennsylvaniaG on 15 April 18941,2 and baptized at Trinity Church Oxford, Philadelphia, PennsylvaniaG, on 21 October 1894.3 He married at PhiladelphiaG in 1917, Edna I Mutch, daughter of Thomas C Mutch and Emma L ___.4 Edna was born in PennsylvaniaG in about 1897.5
In 1900 George was living at Oxford Turnpike, PhiladelphiaG, in the household of his parents Winfield and Sarah, and was recorded in the census as George C Sackett, aged six and born in Pennsylvania.6
In 1910 George was living at Oxford Pike, PhiladelphiaG, in the household of his parents Winfield and Sarah, and was recorded in the census as G Castor Sacket, aged 15 and born in Pennsylvania.7
George completed a World War I draft registration card on 5 June 1917. He was then aged 23 and was a bank messenger at the 10th National Bank. He was single and was living at 1005 Roblins Avenue, PhiladelphiaG.8
In 1920 he was living at Robbins Avenue, PhiladelphiaG, in the household of his widowed mother Sarah, and was recorded as G Castor Sackett, a bank teller, aged 25. His wife Edna, 23, and their one-year-old son Winfield were living with him.9
In 1930 he was living at 5th Street, PhiladelphiaG, and was recorded as George C Sackett, an automobile manager, head of household, aged 36. Living with him were his wife Edna, 33, and their children, Winfield, 12, George, 9, Elaine, 3, and Beverly, aged one. George's sister Florence was living next door.10
