Carlyle Bertram Sackett, son of Louis Edgar Ernest Sackett and Beatrice Ethel Amelia Matthews, was born in Moradabad, Bengal, IndiaG, on 17 May 19031 and baptized there on 22 June 1903.1 He died aged 71 in Waltham Forest, LondonG, in 1974.2 He married at Calcutta, Bengal, IndiaG, on 16 June 1931, Eileen Freeman, daughter of Valentine Freeman.3 Eileen was born in about 1913.4
     Carlyle served in the 1st Battalion, East Indian Railway Regiment. He was awarded the Efficiency Medal on 16 June 1939.5
