 Notes & Citations

  1. Thurmon King's database, citing "Sheffield Epitaphs", headstone in Barnard (South) Cemetery, Sheffield, Berkshire Co., MA, #251, "Hiram d. 21 Jan. 1770, aged 8 mos.", "Isaac d. 2 June 1770, aged 8 mos.", "Eli d. 15 Apr. 1772, aged 3 mos.", "Isaac ye 2nd, d. 2 June 1772, aged 6 weeks.", "Sons to King & Lydia Sackett."
  2. The dates in "Sheffield Epitaphs" are suspect in implying birth dates that would be too close together. Dates on the gravestone are all but illegible. The Find a Grave compiler has death dates: Hiram, Jan 1779; Isaac, Jun 1774; Eli, Apr 1777; Isaac 2d, Jun 1778. Assuming that the stones are arranged in birth order, dates used in this record are: Hiram, Jan 1770; Eli, Apr 1772; Isaac, Jun 1774; Isaac 2d, Jun 1777.
