Leo LaVern "Vern" Sackett, a plasterer, son of Henry Preston Sackett and Mary Martha Barkley, was born in Provo, Utah County, UtahG, on 17 March 1887.1,2,3,4 He died aged about 85 in March 19725 and was buried at Woodlawn Cemetery, Independence, Jackson County, MissouriG.6 He married in IndependenceG on 15 July 1914, Mary Ann "Mayme" or "Mamie" Westwood.7 Mary was born in MissouriG on 4 August 1891.1,2,3 She died aged about 88 in August 19798 and was buried at Woodlawn Cemetery, IndependenceG.6
     In 1900 Leo was living at Ruby Avenue, Independence, Jackson County, MissouriG, in the household of his parents Henry and Mary, and was recorded in the census as Leo L Sackett, aged 11 and born in Utah.9
     Leo completed a World War I draft registration card on 5 June 1917. He was aged 30 and was married with one child. He was living at 219 West Alton, IndependenceG, and was a plasterer.10
     In 1920 Leo was living at West Alton Avenue, Independence, Jackson County, MissouriG, and was recorded in the census as Leo L Sackett, a plasterer, head of household, aged 31 and born in Utah. He owned his home free of mortgage. Living with him were his wife Mamie, 28, and their son Leo F, aged four.11
     In 1930 he was living at West Alton Street, Blue Township, Jackson County, MissouriG, and was recorded as Leo L Sackett, a plasterer, head of household, aged 42. He owned his home. Living with him were his wife Mamie, 38, and their son Leo F, aged 15.12
