Sarah Elizabeth "Lizzie" Sackett, daughter of Harvey Sacket and Mary Straw, was born in Saegertown, Crawford County, PennsylvaniaG, on 12 March 18362 and died aged 84 in Erie County, PennsylvaniaG, on 9 September 1920.2 She married in Crawford CountyG on 19 June 1862, Rev Robert Jackson Gifford.2 He was born in Watsburgh, Erie CountyG, on 11 June 18312 and died aged 72 in Erie CountyG on 12 November 1903.2
In 1850 Sarah was living in Woodcock, Crawford County, PennsylvaniaG, in the household of her parents Harvey and Mary, and was recorded in the census as Elizabeth Sackett, aged 12 and born in Pennsylvania.3
In 1880 she was living in Greene, Erie County, PennsylvaniaG, in the household of her husband Robert, a farmer, and was recorded as Lizzie Gifford, a housewife, aged 42 and born in Pennsylvania. Living with them were their sons, Jesse, 17, Charles, 9, Gale, 7 and Blaine, 3, and daughter Mertie, aged 15.4
