Rebecca Sackett, daughter of Simon Sackett and Mary Walhill, was born in Bristol, Bucks County, PennsylvaniaG, in November 1745.1,2 She died aged 68 in April 1814 and was buried at Friends Cemetery, Fallston, Harford County, MarylandG.2 She married at North and Southampton Reformed Church, Churchville, Bucks CountyG, on 18 May 1768, David Lee, son of Ralph Lee.3 David was born in Bucks CountyG in November 1740.2 He died aged 76 in December 1816 and was buried at Friends Cemetery, FallstonG.2
     Rebecca was named as a beneficiary in her father's will made in Bristol, Bucks County, PennsylvaniaG, on 20 March 1746/47.4

Children of Rebecca Sackett and David Lee


The first of this family in America was Ralph Lee, who was b. in England, son of William and Hannah (Smith) Lee of England. Ralph Lee emigrated to America the early part of the eighteenth century and settled in Bucks Co., Pa., between the years 1727 and 1731. His son, David, came from Bucks Co., Pa., in 1771, and located in that part of Baltimore Co. which is now Harford Co., Md., buying property near Jerusalem, and establishing his mills there, in 1772, known to this day as "Jerusalem Mills." Accompanying him from Bucks Co. was his friend, Joseph Ellicott, who established the well-known "Ellicott Mills" properties, and for whose family Ellicott City was named. Both were prominent members of the Society of Friends. David Lee, b. Nov. 1740; d. Dec. 1816; accumulated by his industry a large estate, m. Rebecca Sackett, b. Nov. 1745, d. Apr. 1814. Both are buried in the Friends Cemetery at Fallston. His will is dated 2d, 8th mo. 1811, and probated in Harford Co., Md., 2d July, 1816.
