Stephen George A Sackett, a baker, son of Stephen Edward Sackett and Tryphena Butcher Maytum, was born in Thanet, KentG, on 29 December 1913.1,2 He died aged 90 in KentG in July 2004.3 He married in Medway, KentG, in 1941, Nellie Rose Taylor, daughter of Sidney Taylor and Rose E ___.4,5 Nellie was born in Faversham, KentG, on 19 May 19196,2 and died aged 87 in KentG in September 2006.7 Nellie was a shop assistant, living at 165 Edwin Road, Gillingham, KentG, with her parents.8
     At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, Stephen was a journeyman baker, living at Woodside Cottages, Swale Rural District, KentG, with his widowed mother Tryphena and her parents Arthur and Ellen Maytum.9
