Margaret Gordon Sackett, also known as Helen, daughter of Frank Gordon Sackett and Alice Harper, was born in West Ham, EssexG, on 20 September 1911.1,2,3 She died aged 79 in Chelmsford, EssexG, in May 1991.4 She married in Hampstead, LondonG, in 1942, John H Slater.5,6
     In 1921 Margaret was living at Oak Grove, Theydon Bois, EssexG, in the household of her parents Frank and Alice, and was recorded in the census as Helen Margaret Sackett, aged nine and born in Woodford.7
     At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, Margaret was living at 4 Middleton Grove, Islington, LondonG. She was a private teacher, shorthand typist, and translator.8
