Richard William Sackett, sometimes known as William, son of Richard John Sackett and Alma Horwood, was born in West Ham, EssexG, on 25 November 19031 and baptized at Holy Trinity, Leytonstone, EssexG, on 20 December 1903.2,3 He died aged 71 in Greenwich, LondonG, on 30 April 19754 and was cremated at Eltham Crematorium, GreenwichG, on 7 May 1975.5 He married in West HamG in 1928, Ivy Alexandra Bellamy, daughter of ___ Bellamy and ___ Hiron.6,7 Ivy was born in West HamG on 7 June 1904.8 She died aged 82 in GreenwichG on 11 July 19869 and was cremated at Eltham Crematorium, GreenwichG, on 21 July 1986.10
     In 1921 William was living at 56 Holloway Road, Leytonstone, LondonG, in the household of his parents Richard and Alma, and was recorded in the census as William Sackett, an iron and wire worker, aged 17.11
     At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, Richard was a Metropolitan Police sergeant, living at 2 Arsenal Road, Woolwich, LondonG.12
