Sidney Charles Norman Sackett, son of Edward Sackett and Rose Ellen Colbourn, was born in Boston, LincolnshireG, on 25 March 1903.1,2 He died aged 79 in Penzance, CornwallG, in 1982.3 He married in Greenwich, LondonG, in 1931, Josephine Winifred Ellen Riches.4,5 Josephine was born in LondonG on 1 December 1905 and baptized at St Mark's Church, Dalston, LondonG, on 25 March 1906.6 She died aged 74 in Barnstaple, DevonG, in 1980.7
     In 1911 Sidney was living at 93 Victoria Road, Charlton, LondonG, in the household of his parents Edward and Rose, and was recorded in the census as Sidney Charles Norman Sackett, a schoolboy, aged eight and born in Boston, Lincolnshire.8
     In 1921 he was living at 48 Mayhill Road, GreenwichG, in the household of his parents Edward and Rose, and was recorded as Sydney Charles Norman Sackett, a civil servant at the Crown Agents, aged 18.9
     At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, Sidney was a civil service clerk, living at 48 Mayhill Road, GreenwichG, with his widowed mother Rose and sister Gladys.10
