Clifford Sackett served as a Union soldier in the American Civil War in the 51st Regiment, Wisconsin Infantry.3 In 1890 he was living at 92 Wisconsin Street, Milwaukee, WisconsinG, and was recorded in the veterans' census schedules as serving from June 1864 to August 1865 as a captain in the Union army in the 39th Wisconsin Infantry.4
