Stephen Hyde Sackett, farmer, son of William Sackett and Mercy Sleade Earle, was born in IndianaG on 30 May 1842.1 He died aged 85 in Ligonier, Noble County, IndianaG, on 22 August 1927.2 He married in White Pigeon, St Joseph County, MichiganG, on 9 December 1869, Emily M Ramsby, daughter of John Shover Ramsby and Hannah Reynolds.1,3 Emily was born in LaGrange County, IndianaG, on 16 April 18494 and died there aged 36 on 23 April 1885.4
     In 1850 Stephen was living in Eden, LaGrange County, IndianaG, in the household of his parents William and Mercy, and was recorded in the census as Stephen H Sackett, aged eight and born in Indiana.5
     In 1860 he was living in EdenG in the household of his parents William and Mercy, and was recorded as Stephen H Sackett, a labourer, aged 18.6
