Roland P Sackett, son of Roland Sacket and Sally Phelps, was born in Westfield, Hampden County, MassachusettsG, on 15 April 1817. He died on 20 May 1884 and was buried at Pine Hill Cemetery, WestfieldG. He married Mary Ann Curtis.
In 1870 Roland was living in WestfieldG and was recorded in the census as Roland Sackett, a farm laborer, aged 51. [He is recorded as born in Ireland, clearly an error.] Living with him were his wife Mary, aged 41, and born in Connecticut, and their children, Cordelia, 23, Malinda, 16, Richard, 14, and Clara, aged eleven. Also in the household were his sister Miranda, brother Ashmon, and father Roland.1
Roland was named as a beneficiary in his father's will made in WestfieldG on 2 May 1882. He was to receive a sum of $300 from his brother Ashmon who was to inherit the estate.2
