Augustus J Sackett, farmer, son of Roland Sacket and Sally Phelps, was born in Westfield, Hampden County, MassachusettsG, in 1829.1,2 He died there aged 51 on 3 June 18813 and was buried at Pine Hill Cemetery, WestfieldG. He married in WestfieldG on 18 January 1854, Sybil J Clark, daughter of Henry Clark and Irene ___.4 Sybil was born in Granville, Hampden CountyG, in about 1828.5 She died there aged 49 on 8 July 1877.6
     In 1850 Augustus was living in WestfieldG and was recorded in the census as Augustus Sacket, a farmer, aged 19 and born in Massachusetts. Living with him was his sister Miranda, aged 30.7
     In 1860 he was living in Southwick, Hampden CountyG, and was recorded as Augustus Sacket, a farmer, aged 28. Living with him were his wife Sybil, 32, and their children, Emogene, 2, and Maryenetta, aged ten months.8
     In 1870 he was living in Southwick, Hampden County, MassachusettsG, and was recorded as Augustus Sackett, a farmer, aged 39. Living with him were his wife Sybil, 42, and their children, Irena, 12, Nettie, 10, and Lucy, aged nine. There was also a farm laborer in the household.9
