John Edward Sackett, son of John Sackett and Alice Matilda Coleman, was born in Woolwich, KentG, on 16 October 18881,2 and baptized at St John the Baptist, Plumstead, KentG, on 22 January 1890.3 He died aged 76 at St Alfeges Hospital, Greenwich, KentG, on 19 June 19654,5 and was cremated at Eltham Crematorium, GreenwichG, on 29 June 1965.6 He married in St Mark's Church, Plumstead Common, GreenwichG, on 22 August 1912, Ethel Olivia Wilson Hollingsworth, daughter of Oliver Wilson Hollingsworth.7,8,9 Ethel was born on 11 May 1887.2 She died aged 75 at 1 Old Bexley Lane, Dartford, KentG, on 11 April 196310,5 and was cremated at Eltham Crematorium, GreenwichG, on 18 April 1963.11
     In 1891 John was living at 17 Hare Street, WoolwichG, in the household of his parents John and Alice, and was recorded in the census as John E Sackett, aged two and born in Woolwich.12
     In 1901 he was living at 17 & 19 Hare Street, Woolwich, LondonG, in the household of his parents John and Alice, and was recorded as John E Sackett, aged eleven and born in Woolwich.13
     In 1911 he was living at 17 & 19 Hare Street, WoolwichG, in the household of his parents John and Alice, and was recorded as John Edward Sackett, an ironmonger's assistant, aged 22.14
     In 1921 he was living at 46 Genesta Road, Plumstead, LondonG, and was recorded as John Sackett, an ironmonger, head of household, aged 32. Living with him were his wife Ethel, 33, and their daughter Olive, aged seven.15
     At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, John and Ethel were living at Flat 22, Mulberry Close, GreenwichG. John was a heating and ventilation engineer. John's brother Victor was living with them.16
     John was granted administration on 21 May 1963 of his wife Ethel's estate, valued at £332.17
     Administration of John's estate was granted on 9 August 1965 to his daughter Olive. His estate was valued at £2,138.18
