Charles Rexford Sackett, son of Charles Melvin Sackett and Fleeta Arvilla Stout, was born in New London, Waupaca County, WisconsinG, on 2 August 1882.1,2,3 He died aged 76 in Rhinelander, Oneida County, WisconsinG, on 3 April 1959 and was buried at St Mary's Parish Cemetery, Bear Creek, Outagamie County, WisconsinG.1,4,5 He married in Oneida CountyG on 25 October 1905, Mary Ann Rohan, daughter of Patrick Rohan and Mary Murphy.1,6 Mary was born in Bear Creek, Waupaca County, WisconsinG, in 1886.1,7 She died aged 84 in Tomahawk, Lincoln County, WisconsinG, on 24 December 19708 and was buried at St Mary's Parish Cemetery, Bear CreekG.1
In 1900 Charles was living in Hortonia, Outagamie CountyG, in the household of his parents Charles and Arvilla, and was recorded in the census as Chas Sackett, a day laborer, aged 17 and born in Wisconsin.9
In 1910 he was living at Range Line Avenue, Crandon, Forest County, WisconsinG, and was recorded as Charles R Sackett, a carpenter, head of household, aged 27. He owned his home on a mortgage. Living with him were his wife Mary, 24, and their children, Arvilla, 3, Cecelia, 2, and Allan, aged five months.10
Charles completed a World War I draft registration card on 12 September 1918. He was then aged 36 and was a carpenter. He was living at 829 Shepard Street, RhinelanderG, with his wife Mary Ann.11
In 1920 he was living at 829 Shepard Street, RhinelanderG, and was recorded as Chas Sackett, a carpenter, head of household, aged 37. He rented his home. Living with him were his wife Mary, 33, and their children, Arvilla, 13, Cecilia, 12, Aloysius [Allan], 10, Melvin, 9, Francis, 5, Mary, 3, and Bernard, aged one.12
Charles and Mary were listed in the Rhinelander City Directory in 1927 and 1930. He was a carpenter and they were living at 829 Shepard StreetG.13
In 1930 he was living at Shepard Street, RhinelanderG, and was recorded as Charles Sackett, a carpenter, head of household, aged 47. He owned his home. Living with him were his wife Mary, 43, and their children, Aloysius [Allan], 20, Melvin, 18, Francis, 15, Mary, 13, Bernard, 11, David, 5, and Donald, aged three.14
Charles completed a World War II draft registration card on 25 April 1942. He was then aged 59 and was living at 737 Shepard Street, RhinelanderG, with his wife.2
