In 1860 he was living in Meadville, Crawford CountyG, in the household of his parents Rolin and Pamelia, and was recorded as Lenard Sacket, a laborer, aged 28.4
Leonard's mother Pamelia applied in 1863 for a Civil War mother's pension following her son John's death from disease contracted in the Army. In the application, Leonard, then 31, was described as non compos mentis and dependent upon his mother for support.
In 1880 Leonard was living in MeadG in the household of his widowed mother Pamelia, and was recorded in the census as Leonard Sackett, single, aged 48.5
