Daniel Webster Sackett, farmer, son of Asa White Sackett and Iva Cole, was born in Hadley, Pike County, IllinoisG, on 21 March 1853.2 He died in New Salem, Pike CountyG, on 21 November 1935.3 He married in HadleyG on 20 March 1878, Lua Louisa Burdick, daughter of Abel R Burdick and Marion B Horton.4,2 Lua was born in IllinoisG in about 1856.5 She died before 1920.6
     In 1880 Daniel was living at Hadley, Pike County, IllinoisG, and was recorded in the census as Daniel Sackett, head of household, a farmer, married, aged 26 and born in Illinois. Living with him were his wife Lua aged 23 and born in Illinois, and their sons Mirt aged two and Almeron aged one.5
     In 1900 he was living in Hadley, Pike County, IllinoisG, and was recorded as Daniel Sackett, a farmer, head of household, aged 48. Living with him were hs wife Lua, 43, and their children, Mert, 22, Joatham, 20, Wallace, 16, James, 15, Jonathan, 4, and Dewey, aged two.7
     In 1910 he was living in HadleyG and was recorded as Daniel Sackett, self-employed farmer, head of household, aged 57. He owned his home on a mortgage. Living with him were his wife Lua, 53, and their sons, Mert, 31, Joatham, 30, Jonathan, 15, and Dewey, aged twelve.8
     In 1920 he was living in HadleyG and was recorded as Daniel W Sackett, a farmer, head of household, a widower aged 66. He owned his home on a mortgage. Living with him were his unmarried sons, Mert, 43, Joatham, 41, Jonathan, 25, and Dewey, aged 22.9
