Demming Whittlesey Sackett, son of Norman Sackett and Sally Northrup, was born in OhioG on 18 January 18162,3 and died aged 53 in Wilson County, KansasG, on 4 January 1870.3 He married Emily D Bacon.4 She was born in New York StateG in 1818.4,2 She died aged 37 in WaverlyG on 3 June 18564 and was buried at Waverly East CemeteryG.5
     In 1850 Demming was living in Perry, Stark County, OhioG, and was recorded in the census as Demming, a laborer, aged 34 and born in Ohio. Living with him were his wife Emily, 31, and their children, Lucy, 4, and Horace, aged one.6
