Abraham Allen Sackett, tanner, hostler, son of Augustus Russell Sackett and Mary Haw, was born in Darlington, Ontario, CanadaG, on 12 July 1840.1,2 He died aged 84 at 180 Coleman Avenue, York, OntarioG, on 9 April 19253,4 and was buried at Norway Cemetery, Toronto, OntarioG.4 He married first in Fenelon, Victoria County, OntarioG, on 1 January 1872, Ellen Hancock, daughter of George Hancock and Mary Ann ___.3,5 Ellen was born in Devon, EnglandG, in about 1850.1,6 She died aged 37 in Beaverton, OntarioG, on 24 August 1888.7 He married second in BeavertonG on 10 December 1891, Martha Stoyner, daughter of Richard Stoyner and Martha ___.8 Martha was born in Worcestershire, EnglandG, on 25 August 18441,6 and immigrated to CanadaG in 1889.2 She died aged 85 at Ontario Hospital, WhitbyG, on 4 June 19309 and was buried at Groveside Cemetery, WhitbyG, on 7 June 1930.9
In 1850 Abraham was living in Canton, St Lawrence County, New York StateG, in the household of his parents Augustus and Mary, and was recorded in the census as Abraham Sackett, aged nine and born in New York.10
In 1861 he was living in Darlington, Durham County, CanadaG, in the household of his parents Augustus and Mary, and was recorded as Abraham Sackett, a labourer, aged 21.11
In 1871 he was living in Victoria County, Ontario, CanadaG, in the household of his parents Augustus and Mary, and was recorded as Abraham Sacket, aged 30 and born in Ontario.12
In 1881 he was living in Thorah, OntarioG, and was recorded as Abram Sackett, a labourer, married, English, aged 40. Living with him were his wife Ellen, 28, and their children, Lucy, 9, Teressa, 6, Isabella, 4, John James, 1, and Mary Ann, aged three.13
In 1891 he was living in Beaverton, OntarioG, and was recorded as Abraham Sacket, hostler, a widower, aged 51. Living with him were his children, Theresa, 17, Ester, 15, Mary Ann, 13, John James, 12, Annie, 10, George, 8, and Abraham, aged six.14
In 1901 he was living in Fenelon, Victoria County, OntarioG, and was recorded as Abram A Sackett, head of household, married, born on 12 July 1840. Living with him were his second wife, Martha, 56, his son Abraham, 15, and a granddaughter, Ela ?ray, aged five.15
In 1921 he was living at Rosedale, Fenelon, Victoria County, OntarioG, and was recorded as Abraham Sackett, head of household, married, aged 80 and born in Ontario. He owned his home. His occupation was given as "income", presumably meaning pensioner. Living with him was his wife Martha, aged 76.16
