Samuel Nelson Sackett, son of Herman Eugene Sackett and Celinda Esther Greene, was born in New York StateG on 5 September 1919.1,2 He died aged 83 on 20 January 2003.1,3 He married Doris Jean Cranmer, daughter of Harold Cranmer and Meryl ___.1 Doris was born on 27 September 1921.1 She died aged 90 at home in Apalachin, Tioga County, New York StateG, on 22 July 2012.4
In 1920 Samuel was living at Union Township, Broome County, PennsylvaniaG, in the household of his parents Herman and Celinda, and was recorded in the census as Samuel Sackett, aged six months and born in Pennsylvania.5
In 1930 he was living at Evergreen Street, Endicott Village, Broome County, New York StateG, in the household of his parents Herman and Celinda, and was recorded as Samuel Sackett, aged ten and born in New York.6
Samuel enlisted in the US Army, Philippine department, on 5 October 1939.7
