Elisha Winrow Sackett, son of Elisha Sackett and Mary Elizabeth Turentine, was born in IllinoisG on 2 March 1872.2,3 He died aged 88 in Dayton Memorial Hospital, Dayton, Liberty County, TexasG, on 10 May 1960 and was buried at Ryan Cemetery, Tarkington Prairie, Liberty CountyG.4,2 He married in about 1891, Bertha Esther Griffin.5,6 Bertha was born in KansasG in July 1876.5 She died in 1937 and was buried at Ryan Cemetery, Tarkington PrairieG.7
In 1900 he was living in Township 24, Cherokee Nation, Indian TerritoryG, and was recorded as Winrow E Sackett, a farm laborer, head of household, aged 28 and born in Illinois. He rented his home. Living with him was his wife Birtie, 23 [sic], and their children, Charley, 6, Nettie, 5, Jacob, 3, and John, aged two months.8
In 1910 he was living at Liberty, TexasG, and was recorded as E W Sackett, a farmer, head of household, aged 40 and born in Illinois. Living with him were his wife Esther, 34, and their children, Charlie, 16, Nettie, 15, Jakie, 13, Anie, 6, and Woodie, aged three.9
In 1920 he was living at Liberty, TexasG, and was recorded as E W Sackett, a self-employed farmer, head of household, aged 54 and born in Texas. Living with him were his wife Esther, 49, and their children, Charlie, 27, Nettie, 25, Jake, 23, Ana, 16, Woodie, 14, Della, 9, Maggie, 7, and Dottie, aged four.10
