Samuel Sackett, son of Elisha W Sackett and Elizabeth Voyles, was born in Montgomery County, IllinoisG, on 19 April 1837.1 He died in IllinoisG on 27 August 1864.1 He married at Macoupin County, IllinoisG, in 1857, Martha A Boyd.1
     In 1850 Samuel was living in the Southwest part of District 22, Montgomery County, IllinoisG, in the household of his widowed mother Elizabeth, and was recorded in the census as Samuel Sackett, aged 14 and born in Illinois.2
