Lyman H Sackett, son of Elijah Gibson Sackett and Malinda Lee, was born on 2 January 1835.1 He died aged 27 in Rolla, Phelps County, MissouriG, on 15 January 1862.1,2 He married Lauretta Thorpe.1
Lyman Sackett served as a Union soldier in Company I, 3rd Regiment Illinois Volunteer Cavalry, in the American Civil War. He died in the service.3
In 1850 Lyman was living in Berlin, Delaware County, OhioG, in the household of his parents Elijah and Malinda, and was recorded in the census as Lyman Sackett, aged 15 and born in Ohio.4
In 1860 he was living in Bloomington, McLean County, IllinoisG, in the household of his parents Elijah and Malinda, and was recorded as Thiam [sic] Sackett, aged 25.5
