Adelbert Darwin Sackett (1841–1923) & Eunice (Northrup) Sackett

Adelbert Darwin Sackett, son of Gery Sackett and Julia Adams, was born in Windsor, Ashtabula County, OhioG, on 2 February 1841.1,2 He died aged 82 in Gustavus, Trumbull County, OhioG, on 1 March 19233 and was buried at Windsor Township CemeteryG.4 He married first in Ashtabula CountyG on 5 July 1865, Julia Griffin.1,5 Julia was born in Kingsville, Ashtabula CountyG, in 1846.4 She died in childbirth aged about 31 on 20 June 18786 and was buried at Windsor Township CemeteryG.4 Adelbert married second in Clinton CountyG on 17 March 1880, Eunice A (Wright) Northrop, daughter of Solomon Wright and Ann Call.7 Eunice was born in Harpersfield, Ashtabula County, OhioG, on 19 June 1846.2 She died aged 83 in GustavusG on 15 January 1930 and was buried at WindsorG.8
In 1850 Adelbert was living in Windsor, Ashtabula County, OhioG, in the household of his parents Gery and Julia, and was recorded in the census as Adelbert Sackett, aged nine and born in Ohio.9
Adelbert registered for the Civil War draft in WisconsinG in June 1863. He was a farmer of Wyoming, Iowa County, married, aged 22 and born in Ohio. (This record is puzzling: he is not otherwise known to have been in Wisconsin and, as far as is known, he was not married until July 1865.)10
In 1870 he was living in WindsorG and was recorded as Adelbert Sackett, a farm laborer, aged 32. Living with him, but unnamed, were a 30-year-old female Sackett, and two other Sacketts, one male, one female. These are assumed to be Adelbert's wife Julia and their children, Susan and Albert.11
In 1880 he was living in WindsorG and was recorded as Adelbert Sackett, a laborer, head of household, aged 39. Living with him were his second wife, Eunice, 34, her daughter Martha Northrup, 6, and his son, Archie, aged nine.12
In 1900 he was living in Gustavus, Trumbull County, OhioG, in the household of his daughter Susan and son-in-law James Craig, and was recorded as Adelbert Sackett, aged 57. His wife Eunice was living with him.13
In 1910 he was living in GustavusG and was recorded as Adelbert D Sacket, head of household, aged 69. His wife Eunice, 62, was living with him. Also in the household was Florence M Lont, aged six, a granddaughter (presumably of Eunice's.)14
In 1920 he was living at Main Road, GustavusG, and was recorded as Adelbert D Sackett, head of household, aged 78. His wife Eunice, 73, was living with him.15
4351. Adelbert Darwin Sackett, 1841–, of Windsor, Ohio, son of (1744) Guy and Julia Adams Sackett, was married, July 7, 1865, to Julia Griffin, of Kingsville, O., who died June 20, 1878. On Mar. 17, 1880, he was married to Eunice Norththrop, of Austinburg, Ohio. In 1907 he resided at Gustavus, Ohio.
