Harry Robert Sackett MD (1871–1965)
Harry Robert Sackett MD, physician, son of George Ingalls Sackett and Sarah Elizabeth "Lizzie" Harvey, was born in Springfield, Hampden County, MassachusettsG, on 25 June 1871.1,2 He died aged 93 in Pinellas County, FloridaG, on 4 February 1965.3 He married first at Holyoke, Hampden CountyG, on 7 July 1896, Edith Parsons Hayes, daughter of Frederick Hayes and Margaret Noble.1,4 Edith was born in Plainwell, Allegan County, MichiganG, on 8 August 1871.5,6 Harry and Edith divorced sometime between 1930 and 1933. She died aged 80 at St Luke's Hospital, Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, OhioG, on 9 April 19527 and was buried at Forestdale Cemetery, Holyoke, Hampden County, MassachusettsG.8 Harry married second in Clearwater, Pinellas County, FloridaG, on 18 July 1933, Eva S Miller.9 Eva was born in Minersville, Schuylkill County, PennsylvaniaG, in about 1879.10 He married third in Pinellas County, FloridaG, in January 1956, Retta L Smith.11 Retta was born on 14 November 1878.6 She died aged 95 in Pinellas County, FloridaG, on 25 July 1974.12
     In 1880 Harry was living at West Springfield, Hampden CountyG, in the household of his parents George and Lizzie, and was recorded in the census as Harry R Sackett, at school, aged eight and born in Massachusetts.13
     Harry and Edith applied for a passport on 14 March 1900. They were then living at 251 Northampton Street, Holyoke, Hampden CountyG.14
     In 1908 Harry was the owner of a 8hp Cadillac, plate number 4857. He was living at 207 Walnut Street, HolyokeG.15
     In 1910 he was living at Walnut Street, Holyoke, Hampden CountyG, and was recorded as Harry R Sackett, a physician, head of household, aged 38. Living with him were his wife Edith, 38, and their son George, aged eight. Also in the household was Edith's widowed father Frederick Hayes, 67.16
     In 1920 he was living at Montgomery Avenue, HolyokeG, and was recorded as Harry R Sackett, a physician in general practice, head of household, aged 48. He owned his home. Living with him were his wife Edith, 48, and their sons, George, 18, and Frederic, 7. There was also a male boarder in the household.17
     Harry visited Cuba in 1928, arriving back at Key West, Florida, from Havana on the SS Cuba on 26 June 1928.18
     In 1930 he was living at 5th Avenue North, St Petersburg, Pinellas County, FloridaG, and was recorded as Harry R Sackett, a physician, head of household, aged 58. He rented his home. Living with him were his wife Edith, 58, their son Frederic, 18, and Harry's widowed father George, aged 83.19
     Harry was a member of the Mount Tom Lodge of Masons at Holyoke from 1901 and was awarded a 50-year veteran's medal in 1951.20
     Harry was listed in the St Petersburg Directory from 1922.21
