Edward I Sackett, son of Justin Sacket and Sophia Marsh, was born in Springfield, Hampden County, MassachusettsG, on 4 October 1844.1,2,3 He died aged 83 in SpringfieldG on 14 February 19284 and was buried in the Oak Grove Cemetery, SpringfieldG.4 He married in SpringfieldG on 20 October 1875, Adella A Payne, daughter of Josiah Payne.5 Adella was born in Webster, Worcester County, MassachusettsG, in about 1851.6
     In 1860 Edward was living in SpringfieldG in the household of his parents Justin and Sophia, and was recorded in the census as Edward I Sackett, aged 15.7
     In 1870 he was living in SpringfieldG in the household of his parents Justin and Sophia, and was recorded as Edward Q? Sackett, a railroad freight clerk, aged 26, and born in Massachusetts.8
     In 1880 he was living in SpringfieldG and was recorded as Edward I Sackett, a train dispatcher, head of household, married, aged 34 and born in Massachusetts. Living with him were his wife Adella, aged 29 and born in Massachusetts, and their son Richard, aged three.9
