William Edward Sackett Link, son of William Sackett and Rachel Link, was born in Canterbury, KentG, in 18631 and baptized at St Mildred, CanterburyG, on 7 June 1863.2 He was possibly the William Sackett who died aged 73 in Bromley, KentG, in 1934.3
     In 1871 William was living at 4 Gas Row, Canterbury, KentG, in the household of his parents William and Rachel, and was recorded in the census as William Sackett, a scholar, aged seven and born in Canterbury.4
     In 1881 he was living at 8 Artillery Street, Canterbury, KentG, in the household of his parents William and Rachel, and was recorded as William E Sackett, grocer's porter, aged 18 and born in Canterbury.5
     In 1891 he was living at 8 Artillery Street, Canterbury, KentG, in the household of his parents William and Rachel, and was recorded as William E Sackett, a grocer's assistant, unmarried, aged 28 and born in Canterbury.6
     In 1901 he was living at 11 Oswald Place, St Andrew's, Buckland, Dover, KentG, in the household of his sister Olive and brother-in-law Henry Dunigan, and was recorded as William Sackett, bricklayer's labourer, single, aged 37 and born in Canterbury.7
     In 1911 he was living at 17 Meadow Cottages, Wincheap Grove, CanterburyG, in the household of his parents William and Rachel, and was recorded as William Sackett, a general labourer, single, aged 48 and born in Canterbury.8
     In 1921 he was living at 29 Wincheap Grove, CanterburyG, in the household of his widowed mother Rachel, and was recorded as William Link, aged 58, crippled.9
