Clara Sackett, daughter of John Ashby Sackett and Annie Sarah (Skinner) Stuart, was born in West Malling, KentG, on 30 January 18861 and baptized at St Mary the Virgin, West MallingG, on 3 May 1886.2 She died aged 68 in Edmonton, MiddlesexG, in 1954.3 She married at Elham, KentG, in 1915, Jacobus J Van Nieuwkerk.4,5
     In 1891 Clara was living at Cottage Homes for Elham Union, Cheriton, KentG, and was recorded in the census as Clara Sackett, inmate, aged five and born in Folkestone [actually Malling]. Also in the home were her brothers, Edward, Arthur, and Harry.6
