Arthur Digerson Sackett, monumental mason, son of Arthur Digerson Sackett and Florence Sackett, was born in Ramsgate, KentG, on 19 October 18991,2,3 and baptized at St George's Church, RamsgateG, on 14 December 1899.4 He died aged about 79 in Thanet, KentG, in 1978.5 He married at Shepton Mallet, SomersetG, in 1932, Olive Mary Slocombe, daughter of ___ Slocombe and ___ Blackman.6,7 Olive was born in Axbridge, SomersetG, on 23 September 19028 and died aged 83 in Thanet, KentG, in March 1986.9
In 1901 Arthur was living at Terncot, Ellington Road, Ramsgate, KentG, and was recorded in the census as Arthur D Sackett, aged 1 and born in Ramsgate, son of Arthur D Sackett.10
In 1911 he was living at 16 Chapel Place, RamsgateG, in the household of his parents Arthur and Florence, and was recorded as Arthur Sackett, a schoolboy, aged eleven and born in Ramsgate.11
Arthur joined the Amalgamated Society of Carpenters, Cabinetmakers & Joiners on 29 January 1918.12
In 1921 he was living at 8 Lilyville Road, Fulham, LondonG, in the household of Lewis Ralph, solicitor's clerk, and was recorded as Arthur Digerson Sackett, a patent maker at Ealing Park Foundry Company, a boarder, aged 21.13
At the outbreak of the Second World War in September 1939, Arthur and Olive were living at 62 Manston Road, RamsgateG. Arthur was a monumental mason. Their daughters, Joan and Barbara were living with them.14
Arthur and his sister Florence proved their father Arthur's will on 13 April 1948. His estate was valued at £924.15
