Sarah Elizabeth Sackett, daughter of David Alexander Sackett and Mary Shaw, was born in Central Howell, Marion County, OregonG, on 22 February 1861.1 She died aged 98 on 5 October 1959.1 She married in 1883, Henry A Crow.1
In 1880 Sarah was living at Howell Prairie, Marion County, OregonG, in the household of her parents David and Mary, and was recorded in the census as Elizabeth Sackett, aged 19 and born in Oregon.2
Following the death of her father David, Sarah and her husband Henry Crow were appointed guardians of Sarah's youngest siblings, Jane, Roy, and Clara, who were still minors. The children's mother Mary was then an inmate at the insane asylum and unable to take responsibility for her children.3
