Samuel Sackett, son of Cyrus Sackett and Nancy Anne Stapleton, was born in Bellbrook, Greene County, OhioG, on 5 November 1799.1,2 He died in Blue Creek Township, Adams County, IndianaG, on 8 August 1856.2 He married first in Montgomery County, OhioG, on 10 May 1821, Isabella Moore, daughter of Daniel Moore and Rachel Parks.1,2 He married second in Adams County, IndianaG, on 28 March 1837, Julia Ann Heath.2
     Samuel was listed in the 1830 census as a householder in St Mary's, Mercer County, OhioG.3 In 1840 he was a householder in Blue Creek, Adams County, IndianaG.4
     In 1850 Samuel was living at Blue Creek, Adams County, IndianaG, and was recorded in the census as Samuel Sacket, a farmer, aged 50 and born in Ohio. Living with him were his wife Julia, 37, and their children, Cyrus, 12, Isabell, 11, Sarah, 10, William, 9, Samuel, 7, Elizabeth, 6, Julia, 4, Hannah, 2, and Andrew, aged one.5
     In 1860 Samuel's widow Julia was living at Blue CreekG and was recorded in the census as Juliann Sackett, aged 45. Living with her were her children, Cyrus, 22, Sarah, 19, Samuel, 16, Elizabeth, 15, Juliann, 13, Hannah, 12, Andrew, 10, Eliza, 8, and George, aged five.6
