Rachel Sackett, daughter of Augustine Sackett and Martha Lusk, was born in Ohio^G in 1826.^1,2 She married in 1852, John Strain.¹
     In 1860 Rachel was living in Brown, Delaware County, Ohio^G, and was recorded in the census as Rachael Stane, aged 34 and born in Ohio. Living with her were her husband John, 35, a farmer, and their children, Susanna, 9, and Martha, aged two. They were living in the household of Rachael's brother Elijah and his wife Nancy. Elijah and Rachael's mother Martha, 62, was also in the household.³

Elijah Sackett, son of Augustine Sackett and Martha Lusk, was born in Delaware County, Ohio^G, on 9 May 1828.^1,2 He died aged 83 in Brown Township, Delaware County^G, on 12 November 1911 and was buried at Cheshire Cemetery, Delaware County^G, on 14 November 1911.³ He married in 1859, Nancy Hendren.²
     In 1850 Elijah was living in Brown, Delaware County, Ohio^G, in the household of his parents Augustus and Martha, and was recorded in the census as Elijah Sacket, a farmer, aged 22 and born in Ohio.⁴
     In 1860 he was living in Brown^G and was recorded as Elijah Sackett, a farmer, aged 32. Living with him were his wife Nancy, 30, and his mother Martha, 62. Also in the household were Elijah's sister Rachael, 34, with her husband John Strain and their children Susanna and Martha.⁵
