Thankful Sacket, daughter of Samuel Sacket and Ruth Trumble, was born in Westfield, Hampden County, MassachusettsG, on 29 January 1742/431,2,3 and baptized at the Church of Christ, WestfieldG, on 27 February 1743.4 She married about 1763, Hopestill King.5
     Thankful was named as a beneficiary in her father's will made at Sheffield, Berkshire County, MassachusettsG, on 3 April 1760. She was left a one-fifth share of his estate, subject to her mother's "widow's third."
     On 6 May 1782 Hopestill and Thankful King sold that part of Sacket Farm now in their ownership following Thankful's inheritance from her father and following the deaths of her brother Samuel and sister Rachel. They sold their three-fifths of the land to Ezra Fellows for £90.6

     Samuel was named as a beneficiary in his father's will made at Sheffield, Berkshire County, MassachusettsG, on 3 April 1760. He was left a two-fifths share of the estate, subject to his mother's "widow's third", and the house, barn, and orchard.
     Samuel served in the American Revolutionary War in 1775.1

236. Samuel Sacket, 1750–___?, of Sheffield, Mass., son of (59) Samuel and Ruth Trumbull Sacket, was a soldier in the War of the Revolution. His military record, as given in recently published Massachusetts records, reads as follows:
Sacket, Samuel, Sheffield, Private in Capt. William Bacon's Co. Minute Men, Col. Fellow's Regt., which marched Apr. 21, in response to the alarm of Apr. 19, 1775; service to May 7, 1775, 17 days; reported enlisted into the army. Also Capt. William Bacon's Co., Col. Fellow's Regt., muster roll dated Aug. 1, 1775. Enlisted May 8, 1775, service 3 months 1 day, also company return dated Oct. 6, 1775.
