Obituary

Michael L. Trickey was born on 3 February 1946 in Wichita, Kansas, the second child and only son of Harold and Audrey Trickey. He died on 31 December 2013 in San Antonio, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include two daughters, Michelle Akers, of San Antonio, and Autumn Tull, of Oxfordshire, England; two sisters, Jean Carpenter, of Fairfax, Virginia, and Katherine Menon, of Wichita, Kansas; three grandsons, Austin Akers, Jacob Tull, and Christopher Tull; ex-wife Jennifer Cramer, of San Antonio; niece Rebecca Carpenter, of San Francisco, California; nephews William Carpenter, of Wimberley, Texas, and David Carpenter, of Douglasville, Georgia.

Mike retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Master Sergeant in 1991 after a total of 24 years of service. He was a lifetime charter member of the Airborne Maintenance Technicians Association and a member of the Air Force Association. His Air Force career included postings in Okinawa, Thailand, Korea, Alaska, Florida, and England. At the time of his death he was living in Premont, Texas, where he had worked for the Raytheon Corporation for 20 years.

He had many interests: He was an avid genealogist and family historian; he was a constant reader, especially science fiction; and he enjoyed playing the guitar and singing, especially with his family. He was always the family consultant for computers and all things technological and mechanical.

We would like to thank Vitas Hospice and Dr. David Marks for the care they provided during the final days of Mike's journey.
