William Sackett, yeoman, son of John Sackett and Ann/Agnes Sampson, was baptized at St Peter's Church, Thanet, Kent, on 1 January 1593/94.1 He died aged about 86 and was buried at St Lawrence Church, Thanet, Kent, on 21 September 1679.2 He married at St Peter's Church on 28 September 1618, Ellen Sampson, having obtained a licence at Canterbury on the 19th of that month.3,4 In 1621 William Sackett was a churchwarden St Peter's Church.5
     William was named as a beneficiary in his father's will made in St Peter in Thanet on 8 February 1623/24.6 William's father John would appear to have been a fairly prosperous farmer and William was left the farm and lands upon which his father had lived at St Peter's together with other tenements and lands.
     William was named as a beneficiary in his mother's will made in Swalecliffe, Kent, on 31 January 1630/31.7 William's mother Ann, having been left only a life interest in her husband's farm and lands, had modest assets at her death. William was left five shillings in her will.
     William was named as a beneficiary in his sister Marie's will made in Birchington, Kent, on 14 October 1656.8
     William was named as a beneficiary in his brother John's will made in Great Mongeham in 1664.9
