Captain Benjamin Sackett, son of John Sackett MD and ___ ___, was born in Dover, New York, in 1752.1,2 He died aged 73 in Stephentown, Rensselaer County, New York, on 28 June 18261,2 and was buried the following day in the Presbyterian Cemetery, Stephentown.2,3 He married on 11 November 1773, Phebe Davis.1,2 She was born in about 1754.4 She died in Stephentown on 12 October 18265 and was buried in the Presbyterian Cemetery, Stephentown, on 13 October 1826.5,6
     Captain Benjamin Sackett served in the American Revolutionary War, and was a Captain of New York State Militia after the war.
     Captain Benjamin's house in Stephentown was mentioned in George Holcomb's Diary on 24 May 1819. The Stephentown diarist's next entry for Captain Benjamin was to record his death on 28 June 1826: "Old Capt. Benjamin Sackett died. Funeral the next day, Mr. Hendrick preached at Presbyterian meetinghouse."7,3
