Major Buell Sackett, son of Benjamin Sacket and Deborah Buell, was born on 28 July 1763.1 He died on 18 January 1840.1 He married first in about 1784, Sally Earl Beach.1 She died in about 1815.2 He married second in about 1818, Lydia Buell.2 Lydia died in about 1832.2
Major Buell Sackett enlisted at the age of 16 in the 5th Continental Regiment, and served in the American Revolutionary War. After the war, he joined the Columbia County Regiment of Militia, was commissioned Ensign in 1803, Lieutenant in 1804, and Captain in 1805. He retired in 1807 with the rank of Major.2
