William W Sackett, civil engineer and surveyor of Newtown, Hunting Grove, Monticello, and Lumberland, New York, son of William Sackett and Sarah Fish, was born on 31 August 1765.1 He died on 9 July 1833.1 He married in 1790, Susan Smith, daughter of Hon Nathan Smith and Susan Mackintosh.1
In 1790 William was living in New Windsor, Ulster County, New York. In his household were two white males (16+), one white female, three other free persons, and one slave.2
