Rev Richard Sackett, son of Capt. Joseph Sackett and Elizabeth Betts, was born in Newtown, Long Island, New York, in 1686.1 He died in Greenwich, Fairfield County, Connecticut, on 8 May 1737.2,1 He married first in about 1705, ___ ___. She died soon after the birth of their only child Richard in about 1706.3 He married second at Greenwich, Fairfield County, Connecticut, in 1710, Elizabeth Kirtland, daughter of John Kirtland and Lydia Pratt.2,1
     Richard was named as a beneficiary in his father's will made in Newtown, Queen's County, on 20 September 1719.
