Thomas Sackett, yeoman of St John in Thanet, son of Thomas Sackett and Barbara Wood, was baptized at St Lawrence Church, Thanet, Kent, on 22 September 1633.1 He died aged 76 and was buried at St John's Church, Margate, Kent, on 17 February 1709/10.2 He married first in about 1652, Catherine ___. She was buried at St John's Church on 18 November 1701.3 He married second at St John's Church on 24 November 1706, Ann Croft.4,5 She was buried at St Peter's Church on 4 September 1720.6
     Thomas made his will in St John in Thanet on 1 January 1709/10, naming as beneficiaries his wife Ann, his sons John, Paul and Thomas, his daughter Hannah, and his grandsons John Sackett, Thomas Sackett and Thomas Taylor. He left his farm at Northdown to his daughter Hannah, with reversion to her son Thomas Taylor.7,8 An inventory of Thomas's estate was taken at St John in Thanet on 7 March 1709/10.8
