Samuel Henry Sackett, a leather shaver of Camberwell, Surrey, son of Henry Samuel Sackett and Martha Paterson, was born in Bermondsey, Surrey, in 1844.1,2 He died aged 36 in Camberwell, Surrey, in 1880.3 He married at St James, Bermondsey, on 1 August 1864, Emma Roberts, daughter of Thomas William Roberts.4,5
In 1851 Samuel was living at 3 Castle Street, Camberwell, Surrey, and was recorded in the census as Samuel Sackett, aged 7, born in Bermondsey, the son of Martha Sackett.2
In 1881 Samuel's widow Emma was living at 60 Henshaw Street, Newington, Surrey, and was recorded in the census as Emma Sackett, a machinist, head of household, a widow, aged 39, and born in London. Living with her were her children, Emma (15), and Harry (12).6
