Edward Lawrence Sackett, son of Jeremiah Sackett and Charlotte Lawrence, was born in about 1822.1 He was baptized at St Lawrence Church, Thanet, Kent, on 30 September 1827.2 He died aged 37 in Thanet in 18593 and was buried at St George's Church, Ramsgate, Kent, on 31 January 1859.4 He married at Eastry, Kent, in 1842, ___ ___.5
     In 1841 Edward was living at Shorne Ridgway, Shorne and Merton, Kent, in the household of James Norman, a labourer, and his wife Ann, and was recorded in the census as Edward Sackett, aged 20 and born in Kent.6
