Sarah Elizabeth "Lizzie" Sackett, daughter of Harvey Sacket and Mary Straw, was born in Saegertown, Crawford County, Pennsylvania, on 12 March 18362 and died aged 84 in Erie County, Pennsylvania, on 9 September 1920.2 She married in Crawford County on 19 June 1862, Rev Robert Jackson Gifford.2 He was born in Watsburgh, Erie County, on 11 June 18312 and died aged 72 in Erie County on 12 November 1903.2
In 1880 Sarah was living in Greene, Erie County, Pennsylvania, in the household of her husband Robert, a farmer, and was recorded in the census as Lizzie Gifford, a housewife, aged 42 and born in Pennsylvania. Living with them were their sons, Jesse (17), Charles (9), Gale (7) and Blaine (3), and daughter Martie (15).3
