James William Sackett, son of Robert Sackett and Mary Ann Layzell, was born in Dagenham, Essex, in 18681,2 and died aged 32 in Billericay, Essex, in 1901.3 He married in Romford, Essex, in 1893, Louisa Mary Ann Edwards.4,5 She was born in Custom House, Essex, in about 1873. She died aged 616 and was buried at Rippleside Cemetery, Barking, Essex, on 30 November 1934.7
In 1881 James was living at the Bull Inn, Bull Street, Dagenham, Essex, in the household of his parents Robert and Mary, and was recorded in the census as James W Sackett, a scholar, aged 13, and born in Dagenham.8
In 1901 James's widow Louisa was living at 40 Creekmouth, St Margaret's, Barking, Essex, and was recorded in the census as Louisa M A Sackett, head of household, a widow, aged 28, and born at Custom House, Essex. Living with her were her children, James (7), William (5), Lily (4),and Louisa (2).9
